Balance: Asymmetrical vs. Symetrical

Symmetrical balance is when you can fold something in half and its still the same on both sides. Asymmetrical balance is when your picture is balanced out but not the same. I think visual balance is important in art because everything needs balance or it won't work out.

Group Collaboration

What i found the most difficult about this picture would have to be placing everyone. Also having everyone do what they're supposed to do. Something that i would do differently would be have everyone come up with different ideas and pick the best one.

Contact Sheet

i like the way my contact sheet turned out. I feel that I did well on the depth of field and arranging them on the background layer. Next time i think i could have done better by taking more time taking the pictures. I think out of all the comisitional tricks i believe the rule of thirds turned out the best. i enjoyed using the macro even though its not my best picture.

Extreme Angle

In this photo I was laying on the floor taking a picture of my brother standing in the door way. This is how I got this extreme angle. In this photo i like the fact that my brother has the light coming down on him. i Could have made it look cleaner. Maybe ave him look up instead of down. Taking a photograph from an angle can give it a strong feeling about it. I would choose this compistional trick if there was somthing i think that would look better if it was taller. Like taking a picture of my cousin when she's standing up next to a cactus.

Macro

Macro is a setting on the camera that allows you to take pictures of small subjects and blurs the background. The one above is the depth of field. It is when you focus on a subject it comes out clear and the rest comes out kind of blurry. The one below is texture. Macro would be the best choice to use if you want your emphasis the only thing to be seen. I peronally like the depth of field because the only clear thing is the screw.

Leading Lines

In this photo I used leading lines. Leading lines are there to help you find the emphasis. They take you to the object its meant to. In my picture the leading lines are on the paper which lead you to the candle.

Compistional Trick: Rule of Thirds

In this photo i took this picture i used the rule of thirds. The rule of thirds is a a plane that has a grid on it. It looks like a tic tac toe board. When using the rule of thirds you have to put your main focus on an intersecting line. The way I used the rule of thirds is by placing the crutches on one of the points.
